On behalf of San Diego State University, I want to thank our alumni, parents, faculty, staff and friends for investing in our “minds that move the world.”

Your generosity enabled San Diego State to accomplish many amazing feats over the last year. We have been recognized for the second year running as the top small research university in the country among those institutions with 15 or fewer doctoral programs. Three of our doctoral programs rank in the top five and U.S. News & World Report ranked eight of our graduate programs in the top 50 nationally.

Looking ahead, San Diego State will be most successful if we can continue to attract and retain distinguished faculty while also recruiting a talented and motivated students. To do so, we will need to fund faculty positions that will bring innovative minds to SDSU and offer competitive salaries, as well as provide scholarships for bright, aspiring students.

By investing in people—faculty, staff, and students—SDSU can enhance our already considerable strengths in research, teaching and community engagement. Further, we can serve the needs of the fast-changing global society in which we live.
